I wanted to change my brakes out wiht some nice ceramics. I wanted to do it myself so it wouldn't cost me 300+ dollars. I figure the front brakes should be easy but what about the back, is it worth it for me to do myself?

thanks

Depends on what year Liberty you have. If you have an 05-06 They have 4 Wheel Disc Brakes. (which in my opinion they are much easier to change). But if you have an 02-04 you have Front Disc's and Rear Drums (not that hard just more time consuming) Hope that helps!

I have the 05 renegade. so you're telling me it's going to pretty much be the same for front and back?

If you can do the fronts, you won't have any issues with the back. Just wondering, if you go with ceramics will that shorten the rotor life?

Actually only the 2002 have rear drums. All 03 and up have rear disks. My 03 has rear disks.

The brakes are very easy to change.

I rebuilt the front brakes on my daughters Cherokee. It was 300 miles away and I wanted to make sure I had everything I needed when I got there so I bought everything at home including rotors. For her Jeep the cost of the new rotors was not much more than turning them, $30 each as I recall. That makes them pretty much disposable in my book. They were also easy to change as they simply slipped over the lug bolts. It would be good to price them out in advance though.

as far as my research can tell ceramics have better response and less dust, thus keeping your rims and everything on the inside a bit cleaner.
