My window motor in my driver side rear door is shot. the gears are stripped. The window will go down sometimes but won't go back up.and it's just makes loud noises. I can move the window freely by pushing it up or pulling it down. I've been searching ebay for a whole new setup with regulator and motor. But I can't find one for the Rear left . They have a billion front lefts. Are they one in the same? The link below is what i find on Ebay. If not thats not the part, does anyone have a link with what I need? Thanks guys

This what i keep on finding on ebay

No, they are not the same front to rear, or left to right for that matter. I can't tell you how many of these regulators I have replaced at work. They always seem to fail, and the factory replacement regulators are the same design.

What year is yours, and what is your current mileage. I just recently helped another member here get Chrysler to goodwill the repair of his faulty regulators. This is where they offer warranty assistance, outside of the normal warranty period, for known failures.

The window regulator failures on the KJs are a well known problem with Chrysler, due to poor design. It may be worth looking into.

I have a 2006 Sport with 30474 miles. i bought it in October of 2006. I've already had the regulators replaced in both front doors 3 times. The 3rd time on both was the "new dealer fix" that included replacing the glass. Those windows have been working good since then. This is the first time a rear window failed.

Why not get one of the repair kits and fix your current regulator and never worry again??

The Regulator is the platic thing that attaches to the window and keeps it on the track, correct? Well if so, then thats not the problem. My window motor is the problem. The Gears stripped in it. I know i can get a motor and replace it but It would be easier to get the whole setup. Which thats what I'm having trouble finding.

Hmm ok, gears in the motor are a seperate issue. Mikey just posted the link to the repair kit for the common failure.

First one on here to mention a stripped out motor gear, usually the rest fails first.

x2 on what was said above about the "goodwill" warranty fix, but most dealers will charge you $100.00 for it. I just called Chrysler Customer Care... they are calling my dealer to tell them not to charge me for my current repair. They also gave me a case number and an address to submit a claim for reimbursement for the three other repairs I paid the $100.00 deductible for.

Are you 100% sure it's the gears in the motor?? When the regulator breaks it make a funny noise similar to stripped gears.

Good luck and keep us posted on how you resolve your issue.

Yeah I posted that thinking if it was a comman failure that would be the fix. I have had no window issues yet (knock on something wood fast) but if I do thats what I am going to try first.

I have not read in the year I have had my Jeep and been on LOST about motor gears strippling but I suppose it can happen.

Yea it's the gears. It makes a LOUD funny noise (like gears skipping/stripping). It will sometimes catch and pull the window down an inch or two but won't go up unless i push it up by hand. In fact the window motor has been sounding strange for a few weeks. My sisters boyfriend (he works on custom cars) and I took off the door cover to inspect it the other day. The regulator is still intact and I'm still able to have my window up b/c it's still attach to track but it will move freely up and down by hand b/c the gears are stripped.

I really wish the regulator broke lol. I'd arleady have it fixed with the part posted above. I'm finding front window motor and regulator kit's for a $100 bucks on ebay so the backs are probably the same price. for that price I'd rather do it my self than go through a hassle with my Dealership. Thanks for the option though. I will keep it in mind.
