Hello everyone I just bought a 2003 Jeep Liberty limited with 145,000 miles for 600 dollars. Only thing I had to do to it was put a new radiator in it. Thing runs like a champ. Hope to learn a lot about my kj from you guys whenever i need help with it. Thank you

Welcome Kaden. Wow, $600 is a steal. You used HOAT coolant I trust.

Hi I thought HOAT coolant was for newer vehicles and isn't it just coolant with organic additives for corrosion protection that lasts longer then regular conventional coolant? I just put napa 50/50 coolant in my Jeep. I always change it every 60,000 miles regardless.

As you get reading through the forum you will find that HOAT is the only way to go to avoid (minimize) leaks. Changing a radiator is kind of an initiation to owning a Liberty so you are in.

Haha thanks man. When I bought it the person that sold me it brought it to a shop and said the head gasket was blown but after taking it all apart turns out the loss of coolant was a leak in the radiator on the side were the seem is. Deffently stole it for the price I paid. Now I just have to do a little body work and put new rocker panels on it. Maybe in the near future a small lift. I don't know yet. Big jump from owning a 2001 ford ranger edge 2wd to a Jeep Liberty 4wd.

Welcome Kaden. Congrats on stealing that KJ. How long before you take it for a spin around the off-road track up there?:icon_razz:

Nice area you're in too. Hwy 55 south to Keshena might be one of the best motorcycle roads in the state.

I would love to with any vehicle but it's kind of illegal to drive out there even out of season.
