Use WD40 and spray all hinges, pumps, locks.... Try and do it after every wash and you will never have an issue. Spray the serpentine and hoses too. Keeps them from dry rotting. I use to buy white lithium grease spray as it sticks better. It's good on the bushing and ball joints and stuff too. But it is not easy to find. Good luck.
