I have an 07 liberty kj and want to lift aswell. The front is sagged so figure if im gonna replace front struts and springs might azwell lift it too. To help cut costs would it be bad to go with spacers in the rear since i just replaced rear springs with new stock onez and then get longer front struts and good springs? Never lifted a kj and heard nothing but bad news about ott lifts. I break enough stuff and dont want to do more work than neccessary. If i go 2.5 rear what front strut spring combo would be best. And should i run a different top plate or the stock work for me?.
Wow - a lot of questions, but here goes
For the rear it depends on how high you are now. Measure from the center of the hub to the fender flare - you will need at least one extra upper spring isolator depending on how much the new springs brought the rear back up.
Front shocks (no struts on KJ's) are all the same length. New ones from Ironman are slightly longer than OME's and stock but not much. So, the added height comes from springs and any top plate spacer and clevis spacing/lift you add. Do NOT do an "OTT" lift - a simple 1/4" top plate is fine with the stock top plate.
Most folks around here run either OME or Ironman lifts with either OME, Bilstein or Ironman shocks for the front. If you lift it more than a couple of inches you'll need extended rear shocks (N132L OME's, the model for a 4X4 Dodge Dakota truck in the Bilsteins; Ironman does not yet offer an extended length rear shock.) The TomMudd EconoLift from JeepinByAl.com is quickly becoming a very popular lift. The FrankenLift from All J's is a popular lift kit as well.
Stay away from RRO unless you thrive on grief.
Keep asking questions!
