Hello everyone. I have 2 Jeep Libertys. Wife has an 07, and my daughter has an 02
The problem is with the 02. It died on her and would only restart holding the gas pedal all the way down and it ran terrible. It gave me a cylinder 2 misfire code in which I put new coils and plugs in and no difference.
Today I pulled the valve cover and found the intake rocker laying on top of the head. The spring retainer is noticeably lower than the others in TDC position. I've read that a broken valve spring is a "common" problem. It does not look broken, but it's hard to tell for sure.
One of my main concerns is that this is an interference engine and it may have bent the valve. Anyone have any info on this?
I'm getting the tool to inject air into the cylinder before I try to remove the spring. I already have the valve spring/rocker tool (#8387)
Just trying to NOT pull the head.
Thanks for any input
