Hi I have a 2006 Jeep Liberty and I’m interested in how to make it a more dependable tow vehicle I was thinking of adding a transmission cooler and a transmission temp gauge but I’m not sure how to go about it. My truck has 150 thousand kilometres on it. What’s some of the maintenance I can do that anyone can recommend. Can anyone help? Please and thank you :).

If you just got it do all fluids, ALL from front to back.
Tune up, new copper core plugs only, air filter etc
Then start looking over suspension for worn out parts
They have a trans temp cooler , if you replace it may leave the trans too cold at times affecting shifting and other issues
Thats a start
With that amount of miles I'm sure suspension is pretty much shot as well

Did all 2006 Jeep Libertys with a 3.7L v6 come from the factory with transmission coolers?
What’s the go to plug for the 3.7L motor? You mentioned copper core.

Good point on the suspension.

Thanks for the input. I’m new to the Jeep Liberty

The plugs are the originals. Best ones for these jeeps. I dont recall the exact part number but they are NGK. Pop the hood of your kj couple stickers right up front the part number is on there. My 02 has an in radiator trans cooler and was not equipped with the tow package or hd cooling from the factory.
