Hello all. About to purchase my jeep liberty Ltd 4x4 in the next few day. This is not my first jeep. In high school I had a 1989 jeep Comanche 4x4 with inline 6 4.0 loved it. I hope to gain knowledge from other members. Thx in advance to all.

New here. 'Have always appreciated a Jeep. 'Have owned a '07 Liberty for 3 years now and don't mind getting dirty to take care of my "Libby" (I'm of the female species => ).
I'd rather have the base model vehicles of the olden days. But I'm learning about BCM's and am not a happy camper! The quote from the local specialists is $500 for the part and $400 for shop fees. And, yes, I've inquired around about programing one myself but I'm told the specialists have to do the programing. 'Cmon fellow jeep lovers, help me out with some good input! And bare with me, being new, what does KJ stand for?

Welcome to the forum Mljones and eagleva! It appears when Jeep first started out the designations were abbreviated for words(CJ=civilian jeep, DJ=dispatcher jeep)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep#Jeep_SJ

And then from there who knows? But I'll go with Tom, he knows everything about the KJ!
KJ=killer jeep

:gr_grin:

What's happening with the jeep that they tell you you need a new BCM? You should start a new thread with more details in order for the forum to help you out. My newest vehicle is an '09, and if I can manage it, will not buy anything newer than that. I actually hate the route technology has gone in vehicles.:thumbsdown:
