Hows it going everyone?. I just picked up a 2008 jeep liberty 4x4 with 64k on it. It runs good so far. I would like to modify it a bit to handle the off roads. I live in fl and we have a alot of low lying water and sand with some mud. My ideas so far
-lift kit (which brand?)
-at tires
-bull bar bumper
-roof rack

Any good chips out there for the liberty?
Thanks pics will be up tomorrow

You'll get plenty of suggestions from people far more expert than myself, so I'll just say "Hello!".

I'm in the same boat as the prof... Just here to say hello, I'm new to jeeps too. Some of your questions are mine too. Lots of answers on here about these same questions though. I've found lots of opinions on these questions already but sometimes the applications are different. I'm sure someone will be by to give you some good advice though.

Lift: Old Man Emu
A/T Tires: So many selections here. Search tirerack.com for opinions, maybe you'll make a decision.
Bull Bar Bumper: ?
Roof Rack: Depends on what you want.
Chips: Don't waste your time and money.

Welcome
First thing is to sit down and plan out what you really want to do with yours and also a budget
Lifts will run anywhere from 800-4000 check Home page
Don't get sucked into spacer lifts and cheap crap that will only cost you money in a few months down the road
Tires, hundreds of different sizes ( depending on how much lift you end up with) and also hundreds of tread designs
Forget so call bull bars , waste of money plus rust easy and provide no protection at all
Recovery points are needed before you even think of going off road at all
same way with skid plates
So figure those into your over all budget as well

Good luck and have fun

Basically what was said. There's a few full metal bumpers out there for the KK, and you're lucky you have an 08. You can get the hypertech tuner. Supposedly it makes a big difference.(I wouldn't personally know, I have an 11 thus no hypertech support :( )
