OEM Locking Cross Bars

I found a pair of new aluminum locking cross bars today! :smokin:
Quite well constructed came with two keys, one fits all 4 end caps.

I'm gonna tell Tim that they are F@&ked and cannot be installed!

Then I'm gonna tell him I can "Quickly modify them" with an angle grinder!

We will see if he lets me install them on his KJ?

If he doesn't let me, I'll let him read this thread once he gets home.:happy175:

Installed Cross Bars !

We managed to get the cross bars installed.
Thank goodness for the canopy it was raining so hard last night.
The install instructions were laughable. Burn them...really. One key does fit all end caps, and do not expect to easily slide the bars once the bolt is in.
It would have been much easier if Chrysler would have made the bolts 1/4" longer, as they are a tight fit, and angle of attack, has to be just right.
Do not loose the security Allen key. Nothing else fits in there.

Water inside could corrode Lock mechanism, so got some grease in there, and WD-40 in key hole.

Next addition will be a Rola Roof Basket. After searching the various baskets on this forum http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36996&highlight=Rola+roof+basket
I think the Rola was built strong (38lbs) and looks awesome.
I found a Rola basket locally and can order the extension if I feel I need it.
