Oil catch can 3.7L

Here's what the a catch can looks like and where i put it, as requested a good while back.

Anyways putting this up because im about to test a different design and will post results and comparison over the next year.

Empty monthly through winter, catches a good bit of condensation in cold climate/winter

Empty every month or two over summer, no condensation during summer typically.

Will follow up with results on the next design down the road.

Ive posted a link, however i recommend you hold off till you see the new one im gona try, its about 10bucks more off AliExpress but uses two Chambers and two condensers.

Once you choose a catch can to go with id recommend a seafoaming and spark plug change before you install it in line with the pcv.

I understand a catch can on the 2.8 diesel. Like most diesels they have alot of blow. If your 3.7 has enough blow by to make you want to put a catch can on. You've got bigger problems.

How much blow by makes someone want a catch is pretty subjective[emoji14]

If you were putting the catch can on there to stop the build up of the milky white stuff in the filler neck, the fix for that is to just remove the inner baffle from the filler neck!

It catches a little bit of oil vapour and pulls out condensation in the winter, thats about it.

Only ever saw that milky issue when i first got the vehicle, never had it since replacing pcv valve, I just prefer to reduce oil vapour going into the intake manifold.

Oil catch can placement in a 2002 KJ

Here is an alternate placement for an oil catch can in a Jeep Liberty....mine is a 2002. I made the bracket myself ( would have been cleaner if I had experience welding ). The catch can is a "knock off" of a Mishimoto compact baffled catch can, but it is a branded knock off from KKmoon which I believe to be a sister company, but the can is $30 compared to the $100+ . But you will have to get your own hoses. I also placed it here because I use the factory hose connections from the PCV to intake. Hope this helps someone thinking about a oil catch can.

Highly doubt it. I put one on my ‘12 Challenger RT but only because the 5.7 has a big issue with sending a lot of oil into the intake- where some have been FULL of oil
Didn’t want to take a chance so I put one on from SpeedLogix and it works great. Empty every oil change and clean it and it’s good to go again
But like I said before, I doubt you need one for a 3.7 considering people have gone 300k+ miles without one

On my LS1 cars I went to Home Depot and got a smal air/oil separator for an air compressor. A couple of barbed hose ends and some rubber hose and it was good to go, and cost virtually nothing. I’ve had the expensive ones on other vehicles, but the DIY setup worked better and the bowl was clear to see how much oil had collected.
