original motor?

Is there anyway to tell if i have the original motor in my liberty? It's an 03, it has "non-actual mileage" on the title and i'm wondering if maybe the motor has been swapped out. wasn't sure if there was a way to match up the motor # with the vin #

The 8th digit in the VIN only tells you the kind of motor. Engine code tells you what kind of vehicle it was in.

Nope that means the cluster has been replaced for some reason.

ok so would the new cluster still show the correct mileage or would it show whatever was already on the new cluster?

If it was brand new, the dealer should have programmed it with the correct mileage. If it was a junkyard part or private sale, it would show the mileage of whatever vehicle from which it was removed.

The cluster stores the mileage.
