I got a check engine light on and popped a p0740 code. No change in shifting from the ****** or thrust during acceleration. I have a 2002 with 206k miles on it. I've heard the torque convertor needs to be replaced. any ideas?

Not the torque converter itself. PO740 is a torque converter (lockup) clutch circuit malfunction. Could be a bad solenoid, a broken or poorly connected wire in the harness to the trans, or a bad transmission control module (TCM) or the wiring to it.
