Ya that weld is suspicious. Is it normal where the bolt goes thru, to have it look like a plate welded over top like that too?

Does the other side look like that? Did you purchase new? I don't remember a plate but really didn't look that carefully.

I don't think the other side has that type of seam.
Will take pic of the other side when I get the cowl off soon at glass shop.
Jeep purchased from dealer, BCAA inspected & insurance declared as accident free, under 4 years old, at 33K miles.
Ok regarding that little seal found next to screen, we have a part #55360778AA.
It is flat not like cowl/hood seal see pic.
Be nice if it showed it in diagram or did I miss it?...link: SEAL. PLENUM, Plenum Drain made by Mopar. #55360778AA

Looks more like this to me:

SEAL. Plenum Air made by Mopar. #55360779AA

I think it may just sit on the bottom of the plenum opening like a shim. Not really a seal? The part you reffed was the lrger piece that runs along the top and side, unless I'm looking at this wrong. The one diagram shows the short piece (#31) beneath that piece (#30).

IDK but it sure looks like part 31 in diagram. Where it goes no one knows...
I may just toss it in the spare parts department, instead of consulting dealer.. LOL.

So I used their vacuum while cowling was off, cleaned the screen myself.
I put it back together again with washer hose connected & wipers aligned to the T-marks in glass.

And this only came into "View" while I was filming what a T-mark looks like.

I suppose only the factory windshield would have T-Marks & the Daimler Chrysler logo.
Good information for those wondering does my Jeep still have the factory windshield?
I suppose tinting and quality would be better with factory glass.

When I did my washer nozzle and pulled the cowl, my windshield was filthy. I had no trouble getting the wipers back to where they were. :happy175:

how do you use the T marks?
There are a few T-Marks coinciding with wiper blade placements, along the bottom of factory windshield.
Simple... align the wiper blade across the horizontal line/mark.

Just wanted to update after weeks now of heavy rains...
Jeep remains dry now inside!
Will have to edit in some pics if and when PB decides to work again POS.
Will see if manage attachment pics go into post, if not later..
Paper towel I placed inside of bottom cover area is totally dry.
With windshield re & re and a bead of silicone along top passenger side edge, all seems to be good now.
Interesting to note that it does look like the windshield when it was removed that on passenger corner, had a bit of moisture/corrosion there.
I sure don't miss that musty, moldy smell that the leak was causing before.:yucky:

Update-
Finally a I get to see another weld leak photo from under windshield cowling, to compare from Member Slugger103.
It would "seam" that the factory weld is somewhat questionable on the passenger side.
Add to that the lack of sealing and that cracks can form, I feel better knowing that inspections and some silicone stopped a leak.
