Some members will post links in their messages so that others can find relevant information, an interesting site, another topic or post on JeepKJ or to a product or part. Unfortunately, these links aren't always visible because the default behavior for links here is to look exactly like regular text. As an example, you wouldn't know I posted a link somewhere in the first 3 sentences of this paragraph, unless you happened to hover over it somehow - it doesn't look any different than the rest of the text here. But if a link was a different color than the rest of the text, and maybe had a line under it, like is standard on most websites, then you would recognize it as a link right away.
I'm not sure the admins here know how to change the default behavior to do that, so please bare with my little how-to below. It's not a security risk and it can be changed back to the default very easily, if you don't like it. But I think most members here would appreciate being able to recognize a link. Sure, when a URL is pasted into the post, you can tell it's a link because you see the https: at the beginning (ie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqcDFbpwkdU), but when the software or the member creates anchor text, you won't see the link unless someone points out that there is a link to click. BTW, anchor text is like this: "This is anchor text" This is what its structure is: "[noparse]This is anchor text[/noparse]"
Sooo... if an admin with access to the style manager would like to do us a big favor (and it would be a favor to the site owners, who would benefit from a lot more clicks on affiliate monitized links), here is how to do this very simple task:
Go to the Admin CP > Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Click the Go button next to the JeepKJ custom style > scroll down to First Alternating Color module and enter this information into the Normal Links CSS box:
Font Color #0000EE
Text Decoration none
Then in the Visited Links CSS box:
Font Color #551A8B
Text Decoration none
And in the Hover Links CSS box:
Font Color #0000EE
Text Decoration underline
Now, I'm not the foremost authority on styling forums or what should or shouldn't be the norms, especially in this forum. I've done this plenty though and I hope others will agree that links should be more apparent - easier to see and more apt to be clicked. It will also make the mods and admins more aware when a spammer has added spam links to their posts.
