We’ve rescheduled our road trip that we were originally going to do back in June to the Pacific Northwest. It’s back on! 
We will leave the Chicago area the evening of September 4th. We’ll head west across the country via US Highway 20, stopping in areas of interest along the way until we reach major water (Newport, Oregon). From there, we head north along the coast through Oregon and Washington – side-stepping to Portland and Seattle - before cutting back across the country by way of US Highway 2 (or other interesting scenic byways or gravel/dirt paths that may parallel the highway along the way).
We’re doing all of this in 16 days, and we have no real itinerary… as we’ve discovered that it’s an awesome, free-form way for us to travel. We’d love to see friends along the way, should the stars align and we can be near the same place around the same time. Due to time constraints, we may be unable to get too far off our route. That, too, we’ll play by ear. Instead, I’ll actively post our location information. If we’re close and the timing is good, let’s meet for a meal, a drink, coffee… whatever! I’d love to see some of you along the way!
