PO456 code driving me nuts.

So for about six months I've been chasing this code ( very small evap leak )I have replaced the following -Vapor leak detection pump -Gas cap- vapor canister-and purge valve with OEM parts only, No shops around here even want to look at it, I had it smoke checked but also didn't find anything.

My next thing to do is drop the tank to check any issues with the gasket on top. I have about 200k on her and every thing is perfect other than minor rocker rust.

Anybody have any suggestions to add would be appreciated, Thanks Adam..

Smoke machine, emissions parts replaced, and now dropping the tank for inspection...
It is stuff like this that would drive me nuts!

I'll most likely purchase a smoke machine next month and borrow a computer to work the solenoid valves in the system, really surprised the shops around me think it's a can of worms and don't want the job.
I'll let you know what I find.

Pulled the tank today and found the plastic flange piece on top of the tank has multiple cracks, Mopar part #122336058 is no longer available anywhere and no aftermarket parts made.

Had to order a used one from a junk yard in Minn. My local yards are not much help.

It's really a shame how fast parts are discontinued with no alternative for repair.

Keep us posted how it goes, hopefully the replacement flange is in decent condition for you.
Plastic is more prevalent everywhere it seems. It is a shame they discontinue parts so quickly.

I have fixed lots of plastic cracks on my vehicles over the years by using a small soldering iron to melt together the plastic on both sides of the crack. Then try salvage some of the same plastic from elsewhere on the assembly and then melt that on top of the crack to build it up and strengthen it.

Try this if your ordered part is not good and you cannot find a good part anywhere...had to do this a lot on my 1992 E30 BMW!

I was going to try this but it looks like many other cracks are about to begin, it also has cracks where the locking ring takes hold, I believe after 2005 the flange and pump are together so when you install a new fuel pump the flange is new too.

I ordered a spare from another yard just in case.

Hats off to Aceautowrecking2014 I found on Ebay out of New York, The pump and flange were in great shape and they shipped super fast - If your 02 thru 04 pump needs to be replaced make sure you flip the plastic tab up in the corner of the pump and then slide it out - it took me awhile to figure it out.

I noticed the years 2005 and after have a normal 1 piece pump so the problem I had would have been solved with just a new pump since there is no separate flange.
