Radiator hose question?

So water pump went out in my liberty last night. Took it apart, got it replaced, and got it all tightened down, but I have to get new hose clamps today. Question is when I pulled off my lower rad hose, it had a spring inside of it, for support and crush reasons. Do I need this for my new lower radiator hose as well? New hose is a Gates hose.

Tons of discussions on this on the internet and really they get no where. Ive always removed it from the old hose and put it in the new hose.

Make sure you remove the bleed screw when refilling and use G05/HOAT coolant.

Got the G05. Where is the bleed screw located?

i use non-mopar rad hoses so it did not have a spring in them.

The bleeder screw is on the block by the top radiator hose. it's a hex

Any new Mopar hose has the spring in it, you could move it over.
I use a retchet & 8mm hex with downward force to loosen the bleeder..

Is it necessary to use this bleed screw? I believe I got all the air out through the radiator cap.

Yes, you may think you did but bet there still is some in there.
Have seen it many times

Ah I see. So just crack the valve? Or completely open it?
How do you know once the airs all out?

(sorry if I sound stupid, first time really dealing with cooling systems, especially on the Jeep.)

yes. just crack it until fluid comes out.
Fill the block as well from that point as well.

You may need some high temp thread sealant. I had to to have a good seal.
If you have never unbolted it before it may be tough initially.
