Radiator question.

Ok so as we all know...the kjs have a "sealed" cooling system, I was curious if anyone has swapped out the sealed radiator for one with a cap? I hate sealed systems n was wondering if it could be done any advice or criticism would be helpful, thanks

What is wrong with the system the KJs have in your opinion?
I suppose it could be done but why ?
Seems redesigning a cooling system would be more work for nothing really.
The system we have works and works well IMO

I've been fighting the sealed system for 3 weeks now I'm bleeding the system after replacing my heater core, yes I've opens the bleeder screw, I'm just at a complete loss as to what to do next... I've only got heat at high rpms but it isn't that good on the colder days.

OK so it is NOT the system it is another issue

Did you replace the thermostat with a MOPAR one?
It takes a while sometimes to bleed it right, I've fought them for an hour or more , just loosen the bleeder screw up and let it bubble slowly

I never touched the thermostat, only the heater core, would that be a suggestion then? Replacing the thermostat?

Yes I would replace it, use a Mopar one only & consider a new lower rad hose while there.

All I do is mine is fill it through the bleed hole, tighten that back up, fill tank to proper level and then let it idle with the cap off and wait a few minutes for it to "burp" and the coolant level in the reservoir drops, then refill and done.

I too have only ever opened the bleeder on both a 3.7 and 4.7, worked perfect every time.

What is the actual temp of the engine? I would start there before throwing parts at it.

Is your coolant temp gauge reading normal? It seems odd you only have heat based on engine RPMs.

All modern cooling systems are "sealed systems". This changes the atmospheric pressure in the system which raises the thermal boiling point allowing a smaller capacity system which weighs less. An unsealed system would need a LOT of coolant with a BIG radiator.

I think your thermostat's bad.

Fill bleed burp bleed. Use the red HOAT coolant.
