That has been my issue just from calling around. i can't find any place that will mount and balance them using the static method. Every place I've called shoots me down when I mention that.

I didn't use the static method, despite what they recommended. The tires balanced fine. After the past weekend, I have a vibration in the back, but I'm pretty sure it's from a welt in the rim, not the tire.

An update to my experience with these tires now.

DON'T GET THEM!!!!

Less than a week of use. (not even 60 miles of smooth road driving put on them). They have not yet seen any off roading at all aside from a gravel road I was on for 5 minutes. I already have a giant bubble forming in the side wall on the driver rear tire. The pic ***** but it was the best I could do with the camera on my phone.

The other 3 do not seem to have anything on them. Sure Treadwright will make it right if all the stories I've heard about their customer service are true but it's still more money out of my pocket to have this removed (and probably sent back to them) and a new one mounted/balanced. I'm not very happy.

I didn't plan on running the tires longer than a few months but I expected them to last at least 1 week of street use.

I've beat mine pretty hard and haven't had any issues. Even had the jeep yanked sideways because I got stuck in a bad spot. I'm willing to bet they would just send you a new tire and let you keep the bad one. Being out another mount/balance will still suck though. :icon_confused:

Just got off the phone with TW. They are send out a new tire and reimburse me the cost to mount/balance the new tire. Now I worry if the casing will match the other 3 and I am a bit worried about this happening to any of the other tires.

Hey, now you can use that one for the spare.

Glad to hear they are taking care of it.
On mine they re-covered the sidewalls to, so the casings didn't matter to me.

They do a bead to bead on the casing but there is still a casing or core tire you want to all match. (even though you can't see if they matched in the first place since these have a new bead to bead sidwall)

Random question, how did you get your grill and fenders so black?

The grille I just painted with Plasti Dip. Was really easy.. The fenders are actually like a grayish faded black.. The rear fender is almost white looking. I plan to do those as well but it's been non stop raining lately here.

Edit: saw pic on first page

What does the sidewalls say? As in "goodyear blah blah" ?

I'm glad they are going to give you a replacement.

Treadwright MAX TRAX M/T. These have the new bead to bead process where the now wrap the sidewall with their own so you can't see if the casing is Goodyear or what brand.

Mine TW's already have over 15k miles on them... they've been on since last October.

Glad to hear that they are trying to make it right - wish all companies would stand behind their products like that.

My original tire of choice was the Guard Dogs, but they were out of stock, and I was impatient, so I settled for these. I might get the Guard dogs for the winter season, I heard the Max Trax aren't that great on packed snow.

Yeah one of the lady's (Pheobe) warned me about their winter handling when I advised I wasn't to far from them in Iowa. I was about to change it up to the Guarddogs but she advised me they both handle the exact same on packed snow. Which isn't very good. I know the Max Trax have the holes so you can stud them but yeah. I was warned they are not good on ice and packed tight snow.

The AT's handled our Chicago winter quite well.

But even when I ran MTR's, they didn't do quite as well in similar weather conditions. Maybe it's me, or maybe it's the tire.

Mine are holding up pretty good. Wearing even. No vibration. I haven't gone above 75 in them though. Drove down near Missouri to but a little miles on them. No issues. I did have that one bad tire. I didn't want to deal with the issue of getting the replacement mounted like I did the others so I just took off my spare and had a friend drive me to walmart and they did it no problem. Took that home swapped it with the bad one and just tossed the other one on the back for the time being.

I took out my driveshaft to replace the CV joint area so I am currently neutered with no 4x4 so I haven't actually gotten to go in the mud with them and I didn't take them off road before I took it out. So I can't make a good call offroad with them.

I will say as they have worn in more they have gotten much louder.

Sadly, traded in the jeep a couple weeks ago. But to finish up the review, the do get louder as they start to "break in". After many rough afternoons and nights getting thrown around in the mud/water, the tires held up pretty well, with the exception of some rock rash -- which could have been avoided. Never had a chance to try some winter driving, but the general word is, they aren't that great in the snow.

On another note, the dealer offered me 4500 for the jeep, despite the carpets still being wet from a deep swim the night before.
