Rear brakes

so today I changed the rear brake assembly, and the piston is kind of weird. it probably shouldn't be, right?

Looks like you should think about swapping out that caliper soon. Doesn't look like it's leaking at all but probably not going to last too long. You probably could just change the piston and seal but easier to change the whole caliper.

Hi, I guess so, but I'll just buy the repair kit and replace the piston and all the rubbers. can i just pinch off the brake line so all the fluid doesn't leak out?

I wouldn't recommend pinching a line off. That may damage the line. You could disconnect the line from the caliper and plug it. Then do the rebuild and reattach. You'll have to bleed the caliper anyway.

The Jeep has plastic rear brake pistons, if the caliper is rusty I'd just buy a new one. I put piston in mine and cleaning the rusty old caliper was a major chore!
