Rear glass lift struts

Tired of my rear glass being limp...

Are those from fleaBay ok?
i.e.:
2 Rear Window Glass Gas Lift Supports Chocks Struts For Jeep Liberty 2002-07

or need to put more money into this part? In amazon it's 2x the price.

Specifically I'm not afraid new struts will be weak, but too strong and one will have to stress to close the glass.

I've been running cheap ones of eBay for over 2 yesrs, think I paid 17 for the rest and 24 for the hood struts if I remember correctly.
Still work perfectly, rear glass might be a little harder to close than you expect though lol

Just for S&G I replaced only one side with a new one & worked awesome.
Of course 2 are best but...anyways I used the Monroe's ..

I picked my set up from a junk yard. They looked to be new and not the stock ones. Picked them up for about 6 bucks each.

I picked up two from Rock Auto. 5% off coupon here, about $10 each, ultra-power brand. It definitely takes a more dedicated and intentional push to close, but one click of the remote and the window is up and out of the way.

The Monroe ones have been great thus far. They almost hit me in the face one morning b/c I forgot I had changed them out the previous day. I almost didn't react in time to avoid getting smacked in the face by the glass.:gr_grin:

Yeah, my hood ones were trashed after 10 years or so, and the hood came down and hit me on the head.....ouch......:happy175: I replaced the hood ones with Monroe. Don't remember exactly now but they were expensive. I need to replace the back two but haven't got around to it. They haven't hit me in the head yet....:gr_grin:

That is because y'alls jeeps are lifted. The worn out shocks had that glass window only open to right where it would smack me in the forehead if I reached into the back for something given the jeep we bought is standard height.

New window shocks were cheaper than lifting the jeep

I did mine last wekend with some ebay specials, the wife struggles to shut the glass now.

I got these. Got two Liberty's in the house, both with glass that wont stay up. I put one in each Liberty and honestly just one is more then strong enough to hold the glass. With two of these in each it would take to much to push the glass down and shut it.

Not a good idea to only replace one, you are creating a postion in which is glass is pushed too hard in one spot it may crack. You have more pressure on one side than the other, teeter-totter like effect in the end.
Installing both is the right way to do it and they won't be too hard to push down after a few times.

Ours had obviously been replaced by the prior owner but no markings on the struts to indicate manufacturer (noname eBay maybe?). The rear hatch definitely flies up quickly and does take some effort to push down!
