Is there any way you can modify the rear swing gate so that the glass opens and closes normally even if there is no power to it. I'm tearing mine apart and need to take the battery out and would like to be able to open and close the swing gate without electricity, in the future I'll probably run electricity to it unless I can find a better solution when I turn it into a trailer.

It's operated by a solenoid so it's going to need power. I guess you could modify it but it's probably not an easy job.
Don't be tempted to just pop the glass by just opening the gate without releasing the glass, it will pull the latch off the glass.

is there any emergency switch or cord that can be used in the meantime, I'm gonna be gutting this down to nothing so I need to figure something out for the meantime either that or any way you know of to be able to rig it to open and shut manually w/o power at all

Sorry I don't know of anything, the latch will twist and release if you open the tailgate but as I said earlier it's not kind to the mechanism so go gently, once it's open you can strip the plastic liner out and see what needs doing.

Figure it out! so I broke the latch a bit when I opened without battery before I realized it didn't work, but it still latches without power as long as the thing is placed correctly, I just have to push a bit, but I found out the mechanism has a motor that literally just spins a little and pushes a metal bit down that opens the latch and pushing the window shut resets it so that they are touching again, you can literally just push the motor by hand and it will open the glass
You must be registered for see images attach

Closed position the metal and the plastic push thing should be touching

open there is a gap between the 2 parts and the motor attachment automatically resets whenever opening manually, the metal part goes back to normal position when you shut the glass resetting it back to looking like image 1, I'm not sure if there are any implications that is caused by opening and closing the glass this way, but it works and hopefully isn't breaking anything.
