Is there a Receiver hitch that will work on a 2006 CRD and still allow for the rear tow hook to be installed?
Have the OE tank skid plate too.
Many thanks.

Do you really need it? Most hitches, at least all i have had, have places on them where you normally attach safety chains when towing...they work great as tow hooks also, I've used them for just that in the past.

Personally I would not think the safety chain attachment points would be as strong, but they may work.

They're designed to hold a trailer that comes off the hitch aren't they? I think they'd hold up just fine.

I pulled a car that was tangled in a guard rail on the side of the road from a crash with my old Ranger using those points on the hitch once. I actually started to pull the rad support out of the front end of the car which was caught in the gaurd rail.

Thecause is correct I think. They are designed to hold a trailer that came loose (as he said) so I would think they must be rated for the hitch capacity. That said I have a Warn Drawbar that fits into my receiver with a shackle on it. It is a more secure hook-up than a towhook and I've used mine as I lowered my KJ in the mud with the POS OEM tires on and had to be pulled out. I changed my tires the following week.

I have the Mopar rear reciever, no problems with the gas tank skid. I'm not aware of problems with other recievers.
