2008 Liberty 3.7. been getting a P1404 (EGR not closing). Runs fine, though once in a while I get an extended crank to start. I went to remove and replace the egr. Took off the egr tube, no issues. However, the torx screw is stripeed. Not much rook down there. Any tricks on this without removing top of engine?

Do you have room to hammer your torx bit driver on the stripped screw? If so, you can try using a piece of tin foil. Fold it so you have two or three layers of tin foil thickness. Place the tin foil over the torx screw and hammer the torx bit in. Hopefully the torx bit will bite enough to get the screw out. You should also prep the screw with PB blaster. I have used this trick before but I had good access to the stripped screw.

Good luck

Don't know what the access is like but I usually just weld something to rounded bolts so I can spin them out
