What kind of sound do they make when they're shot? I've had ones go bad in my LR3 and it's a clunk going over bumps. Trying to figure out a clunk I'm getting only when making a left turn into my driveway.

Have you checked to see if it's covered under the recall?
I just got free rear control arms on an old recall from 2012/13. Previous owner never took care of it. Also getting a free tow hitch to resolve a leaking tank/rear impact recall. Love it.

the noises they make depend on mode of failure, so kind of a tough question to answer.

Generally speaking, the rubber either degrades, breaks apart, and allows more movement than it should (clunking, squeaking etc.) or get hard and no longer cushion vibrations(increased "road noise" and bumps/potholes are louder or sharper impact when you hit them).

I have had good results troubleshooting mystery suspension noises with a go pro mounted and looking in the general area, then reproducing the noise several times and reviewing the footage. I didn't catch it on the first try, but after changing the camera angle and doing it again found I was dealing with a bad balljoint (had lots of play but not completely failed).

Just replaced the lcas today and I cant imagine pressing out those old bushings. It was very easy to just replace the whole arm.

Thanks for all the tips

So what brand LCA's did you get? And did you get the bolts for the LCA's as well? I just found out my LCA bolts are siezed and the shop could not get the alignment done. I may have to replace the LCA's.

The mevotech supreme. I think amazon actually was the better deal on these.
Re-used the bolts.
