Reset sunroof position - doesn't close

Hoping someone could enlighten me with the method of resetting the postion of the sun roof. Currently mine does not close correctly and stops with 1.5-2" gap at the front.

I have an aftermarket sunroof with the 'vent' position and the 'moon roof' position. To fix mine when it sticks, all I do is press and hold the button in the 'vent' position for approx. 20 seconds. Mine will 'beep' and the sunroof moves back-and-forth a little. After that it works fine.
