Rims and tires with pics!

Goodyear Wrangler Authority. These tires did great last winter. They are 225/75/16 load range E. One trip to Florida on them and they rode very nice.
Oh yea $98 each, they were on closeout at wal-mart.

Here's a before and after lift with 245-75-16 Goodyear M/T R Kevlar tires.

This will put into perspective the difference in tire size between 245-75-16's and 235-70-16 inch tires on a stock height KJ.

Hey Ry n Jen what lift do you have? Im getting a ome hd lift extended rear shocks n stock iso n no clevis and I was going to put 245/75/16 on once I got it but I'm thinking 32s would look better like you said, but would those fit with that lift?

and most would argue that re-gearing (read $$$) is required with a tire that big... which Ry n Jen have done already

in other words he meant a better choice for them

Ah okay so hes got 4.10s, I'm curently still in school so I can only pay for tires n rims right now, so I guess the lift will have to wait :disgust:

Looks like Ill be going with cragar soft 8's and 235/70/16s which are better than the stock rims n 225/75/16

Keep the stock wheels
buy a good set of tires
and have fun while saving back what you would of blown on wheels
unlifted you have to stay as close to stock specs anyways
meaning most aftermarket wheels will cause issues with rubbing

Agreed.

I was looking aftermarket for my wheels and was very happy that I found a set of rene wheels so I've got stock fit unlifted and will be in great shape when I put in my lift. The renegade wheels (and some of the other stock wheels) look great if you ask me.

Tom is right ... It's hard to wait but that is what I did ... then when your ready, do it all (lift n tires) at once.

Get some plasti dip and spruce up your stock rims grab a good AT tire 245-70-16 or less and stuff your cash away until you reach $2500.

Yeah we have a Frankenlift. In these photos it also has 16mm (32mm/1.26 inches) clevis lift, two .5" rear polyurethane coil spacers. At the time our KJ had 4.5" of lift. Now after four years of beating on our Rig off road (Already) our KJ has about 3-3.25" of lift.
Time for new OME 790's up front, 4" rear coils from JBA, and new Rancho 9000's alround (MyRide).

stock wheels

lift is OME 927/948 with a 3/8" top plate shims and a small amount of clevis lift. One extra iso in the rear.

That looks alright.

Here's mine with 265/75R16's on OME 926/948 lift, with 3 conduit clevis lift. No other mods (no top plate or wheel spacers.)

Get some mild rubbing on the pinchweld plastic and swaybar, nothing too drastic though.
