I just hop OP's jeep was fixed well enough, if it had those kinds of problems.

Kinda thought I'd never see it again. With the way things were when I traded it in (with the frame and all) I really didn't see without major work how it would get back on the road. Nevertheless, it was still fun to see and talk to him about. Kinda weird nothing changed at all about it, except for the tires, and obviously fixing the structural issues.

That's kinda neat but bittersweet when that happens. After I junked one of my favorite project cars when I was younger, I later that month saw a guy with my headlamp assemblies installed in his car... it was distinctly my old headlights as they had a line of red paint overspray on the bottom of the plastic lenses... I guess as bad as mine were, his old ones must've been worse!

Only vehicle I've ever seen after trading in was my 05 Durango. Traded it in back in 2010 and then saw it maybe 6 months or a year later. It was in some ghetto, filthy, hadn't been washed since it was traded in. Had some new damage. Knew it was mine because of the valve stem covers on the wheels and the badging on the tailgate was a bit fucky from it being repainted. Looked up the history report a few years ago when i got one for free and it was wrecked and it didn't have anything afterwards in the record. So maybe it was totaled? Not sure.

Many years ago my parents sold a car to the son of fiends of the family, he kept it a few years and sold it on. Something like four or five years later we saw it at at the beach, well what passed for a beach. We recognized it from the rust hole patched with fiberglass my dad did.
It look more or less the same except the rear tires were larger for drag racing I guess. When it was sold on it had a 318 with 4 speed, dunno maybe that was was good combinator, maybe new owners along the line dropped bigger motors in it. Anyway it was strange seeing our old car so many years later.

@Sota, I'm sure it was fixed decently as they said they took it to a dealer to do all the work. I was quoted somewhere around 3500 for the repairs, which was where I essentially said I was done.

I found my grandparents old Chevy Venture years after they got rid of it (they purchased it new with 4 miles on it). It was on some wholesale lot, beat to crap and had almost 300k on it. They sold it with 140kish miles in 2010. I kinda wonder where it ended up. No search on VIN leads to anything, sadly, so it's probably scrapped. It's kinda weird seeing something you spent time in on vacations and other family gatherings, years later. Most people think when they get rid of something it'll be the last time they see it. I found it was strange going past my old house, remembering the childhood I had there, etc.

I hope the Jeep serves him well, and that it lasts him a long time!

It ran perfectly, the body was just a POS because of the weather OH gets, and it just destroyed the undercarriage, as hard to accept as it was, as I thought I'd maintained everything perfectly.

Interesting if " frame " is cracked under drivers area. Only ones I have seen is rust in the area where the rear LCAs mount up to and most of them were in areas where folks run them on the beaches
The " sports cars" more than likely are treated with kid gloves, never out in bad weather / rainy days etc and rest of the time in heated garages

Mine got a hole in the drivers area last year.. during grinding when I was redoing the undercarriage I noticed it.. quick few minutes with a welder fixed her right up though (biggthumpup)

Traded in a '08 Dodge Avenger, saw it a few weeks later.
Traded in an '08 Grand Cherokee, saw it about 2 years ago.

It happens!
