Basket Installed Today!

Note Cross bars had to be positioned at 33.75 inches apart.
Once Installed, I heard Creaking noises coming from diver's side rear, after a highway drive, major adjustment time due to Kj roof rail pulling apart-stress!
All is well now after resetting cross bars pulling on rails.

It is a PB-400 Setina http://www.setina.com/bump_PB400.php
And unless you are prepared to heavily modify both the mounting brackets and weld a boxed angle iron onto the bottom of it and then use a 1 inch rectangular down post welded to the skid plate forget it. It was a hood ornament (loose) before all the mods I did to turn it into a real push bar.

well she will just have to make do with the Mopar grille guard then as it is strictly for looks anyway

Home Made Wash Mit & Broom Handle

Since the basket was not recessed and mounted on top of the OEM Cross bars,
a wash mit taped to the broom handle easily slides under the cross bars, allowing to clean the roof of Jeep easily.

This works good.

The Rola basket has been on Jeep outside for 5 months now.
With the painting and clear coat of the basket, I guess I should have also painted the brackets. Only one of the brackets now has rust, and it needed sanding & re-painting.
I can eventually see having to repaint the 3 others brackets in the future as the powder coat on brackets is quite thin.

If you buy one of these steel Rola baskets and it is going to sit on Jeep outside, painting everything like I did, long term, will really help for rust protection!
Edit: Add photo now lifted w/ basket.

I now know why I only buy Thule products!
What started rusting on your Rola products parts in 5 months took over 10 years to rust on our Thule roof rack components!

Ya get what you pay for!

It really hold up well. Try to find a clear coat with UV protectant in it.
Where the two sections join, before you screw them together, using silicone or marine urethane to seal the joints, otherwise water will get in and rust it out. Also do that to all screw holes to seal them.
I took the rack off this winter as I hit with low clearance problem, and need to retouch the scrapes, which did not make it all the way though. I guess I really laid on the coats. Watch your clearance once it is on, and get a good measurement.

Basket looks nice! I need to touch mine up. Got it used and its all peeling. Anyhow kind of off topic question here. What size tire are you running? I am wondering what mine will look like once lifted cause I don't have money for tires atm but am running a 235-75-16. Thanks.

Just ordered the Rola roof basket for my wife. I hope the logo is a sticker as well so I can remove it.
