no offense to be taken hopefully but IMO most of the racks for a liberty sit way too high and look stupid. The factory bars are back so far that by the time you mount something on top it ends up looking goofy.

I agree on the too high part... I'm going to redo mine eventually to lower the basket a bit. After you add crossbars to the roof bars you add a few more inches.

Goofy to some or not it comes in handy!

I used to have the black widow, and it bent a lot, but was bent back easily...

Now I have the Surco roof rack, and my only problem with it is that the aluminum flats are not strong at allll and I have no idea how to improve them. Also, the Surco attachments are expensive and they do not make a CB attachment.

The Surco is my favorite, and the best so far... until I can make my own beefy metal one!

Black Widow basket with homemade cross rails - this setup sits nice and low:

I'm running a "Boiler Brand" rack now, after my last rack (Safari rack from Rocky Road Outfitters) was loaded to their recommended max weight and the clamps shifted/twisted and caused the factory plastic roof-rails to rip off the roof. Very happy with the new rack. well worth the money to have it bolted to the roof as a single piece.
