Forgive me if this isnt allowed and tell me to take it down but I am new. I didnt see anything in the rules about this.

I have been looking for an OME lift kit for my 2005 jeep liberty renegade.
I stumbled upon someone who is selling an OME kit. It comes with the following parts. OME 9009 struts, 2790 front springs, 2948 OME rear springs. I got this set up for 300$.

This is for a 2.5 to 3 in lift.
I know I need shocks. What kind of shocks should I get? Is this a good deal? Do I need any other parts ie bumpstomps? I have never installed a lift or had one so any advice will be great.

It's a good deal as long as the springs aren't worn out. Why did he remove said lift? How many miles were on it?
Bilstein shocks on the front and rear. Need the 2 inch longer shocks for the rear. Yes you need the tera flex bump stops for the front and 2 hockey pucks on each side in the rear for bump stops. I used rubber mallets for mine in the back.

Do you have a CRD ?
Do you have aftermarket front bumper and winch?
If not on either of the above its going to be a very rough ride.
The 790 springs are rated at 500 lb, stock is 310, OME 927s which most use on a gasser are 400 lb.
Plus how many miles on them etc like mentioned above
If the front shocks are good , then it would be a deal for a CRD owner , if not then 4 new springs would be 340.
Many of us have ran or are running the 790s on gassers but only with aftermarket bumper and winch

I do not have a CRD. The guy had this lift on his gasser. I dont have an after market bumper or winch. Would I be better off buying a new kit then? Or do you think it is okay for now? Springs are in good condition.

Springs are not worn out. I do not have a CRD though which is why I am nervous. He removed the lift becuase it is starting to sag 3/4in in front but he said because I have a gasser it wouldnt sag.

Wait, so the seller had a gas Liberty too, and had front springs meant for a CRD on it? They started to sag a good amount, and now he tells you that it won't be
a problem on YOUR gas Liberty?

How does moving the springs from one gas liberty to another make the problem of sagging (that means worn) springs go away? Or did the seller actually have a CRD diesel Liberty?

To the OP, if he is correct and they were sagged 3/4 of an inch then they are worn out, more than likely the front shocks are as well.
You may get by with the rear springs for a while but.....
I mean you could install everything but the time/ cost ( compressing springs/ alignment/installation etc ) would be a consideration in my book as to if its worth it or not.

If sagged 3/4 inch then how to do you figure they are not worn out ?
Something doesn't make sense here after reading back through, either way I would question if its worth it in the long run

you could buy new more appropriate springs for not much more and since you have to buy rear shocks anyway might as well buy the fronts and be done with it

Seller had a gasser then bought a CRD. He then moved lift to CRD.

Are you sure they are 790's
Even so if sagged 3/4 inch they have weakened so you're taking chances.
If you were to come on and ask if you should buy them, I'd say no.
Once a spring starts sagging then it's done
But you have them , so............

Thanks, that makes more sense. On the other hand, if they were/are indeed 790 springs, they should not have started sagging (and 3/4" is A LOT) on a gas KJ... they are still worn springs. That sag would be even worse when swapped to a CRD.

If they were not sagging on the sellers gas KJ, but then started to sag that much on his diesel, then they likely wont sag AS MUCH on your Jeep.. but again, still worn out.

I'm sorry.. doesn't sound like you really got a deal on this, seeing as how new springs alone wouldn't be much more, and you still need to buy the extended rear shocks anyhow.

I have the same kj & really just need my front suspension lifted a few inches. What are my options? Do i have to lift the entire jeep or would a leveling kit on front work? Suspensions are not my expertise obviously

Full spring lift
Leveling kits??? Thats only for brand new vehicles and then still not a godd idea.
First I assume that your KJ is over 50,000 miles and over 5 years old ( of course ) but measure middle of the wheel to bottom of the flare in front, IF less than 19 inches you need new springs and shocks all around.
OME lift from jeepinbyal is cheapest
