those all look good. You should get some tie down straps and drill those in the plywood, carry a tie down net, and bungee cords, then anything that sits on top would be strapped.

I would also strap the stuff underneath, unless you arent tipping and bumping much it isnt a big deal. ive been with people who havent strapped little things down, gone on tilt, or bump, and shatterred windows by flying objects.

Not to mention getting whacked in the back of the head by a flying projectile in the event of an accident! I'm always very conscious of that possibility when loading stuff in the Jeep.

I may just have to build me one of these now, good job guys!

Really? Mine rattles with no sub (stock woofers are more powerful than one would imagine), and that's driving me crazy. You mean this doesn't rattle the windshield/defroster area, the notorious rattle spot!? Possibly your carpeted shelf muffles the rattle.

Back to topic, I went to the home depot to check out plywoods, they could cut it right there for me, of course I did not have the dimensions with me. So it is 45 1/2in x 19 1/2in exact, plus carpeting, then the 1x4 rod cut in half. I guess full cylinder won't work, right? it should be oval.

I'm going to keep the dowel round and screw some conduit clamps (Pictured) in the bottom of the plywood and attach them to the dowel.

The rattles youre hearing may be rattles in the doors them self or the speakers distorting making you think its rattles. I cut all the bass off the door speakers and send it all to the sub, sounds great. :)

For the ply-wood, yup, those are the exact measurements. The dowel rod doesnt need to be flattened on one side, I just did that b/c I wanted to. I cut the dowel rod the same width as the plywood since it sits down into those notches on each side(where the pull over cover goes).

You would also need a staple gun to staple the carpet down. Took me forever to get that carpet on just right.

You could use conduit clamps like scull said but that type he has in that pic wont work.

Instead of staple I was thinking of short large flathead screws and washer.
As for the rattles, that's what I mean. I always have rattle from the rear door, or somewhere in the door trim, that makes shakes. I also noticed the trim where the seatbelt meets pillar was loose, just wacked it, and it is fine now.

Yup, I had the same rattles in the rear doors. It was the speakers as it no longer does that with the MTX door speakers.

I thought you had no speakers on rear doors.
