Most go with the 16 X 7 with 4 inch backspacing ,( 245-75-16 tires) but 15 inchers will work as well if you want to go that route

I got to ask:

If i get 16x7 Soft 8's, 4 inch backspaced, will it look ******** with 225/75/16 Wrangler ST's on a bone stock 06 KJ?

I can get a set for $100 new.

Also I have been told by a local wheel shop, that I have to get a lug nut kit of some sort for those wheels as the factory lugs wont be as reliable/safe as the lugs in this. Is this true?

Sorry to hijack this thread.

I think they'd look fine, just unsure if the width/backspace combo will rub without a lift as I am a noob to the KJ's. I'm sure someone else will chime in on that though. As far as the lug nuts, I do not know.

I mean, they will look fine in a stock KJ, but you are doing things a bit backwards. The way you're doing it, you will pay someone to mount and balance stock tires on the new rims, and then later you will lift it. Once lifted you will be paying someone again to put on bigger tires. Why not lift it, mount some bigger tires on the new rims, and then sell your stock wheels and tires on Craigslist.

yes its backwards, but I dont have $$ for a lift yet. I can get the wheels for $100, with FREE mounting and balancing. When I do the lift and get new tires, etc, I will then again get FREE mounting and balancing.

My stock wheels are all chipped, peeling, and looking gross. I know I could paint them but I am limited physically to what I can do myself, and removing one wheel at a time and painting, remounting, etc, is very ******* me.

trust me id rather do the lift first and then go from there but i cant yet
