Now I understand why it is so difficult to find a new Mr.Sponge Bob.
The dealer only has the diagram for the outside of the air box, not the inside!!!
Ya know, I could have said each one of these things, and they still could not come up with a part number!

I could not easily find part #for some reason on our site here either.
I don't know if the new filter comes in box or plastic bag, but will get to have one tomorrow.
Hope this may help others who want to replace theirs. :gr_grin:

LMAO!!!! With shipping, it's $17.82. Why not just go to Hope Dopey, buy a sponge for 2 bux, and cut your own. Hell, for that price you could make a ton of them, sell em on the street corner, and retire.

"Sponge Bob"...........forgot about that thing and don't remember the last time I even checked "him". I do remember pulling "him" out once by his ears and giving "him" a good bath and washing "him" and ringing "him" out and putting "him" back.........wonder if "he" is still there?........LOL

I found a generic breather filter at Auto Zone and trimmed it to fit. Think it cost me $2.20. But thanks for tracing the part number down and sharing.

Not completely sure Matthew, but I think 04-05's for sure, also same in Pt Cruiser.
If you don't have the slot in air box for it, don't worry about it.
I'm back home now after dealer & got the new Sponge Bob installed.
