squeaking in front drivers wheel

There is no boot on the tcase side of the shaft and the cv joint appears to be all dry and dusty. does this sound like i nees à new cv?

Yes. Should be a boot with LOTS of grease.

Got the shaft out and parts ordered. Any advice on putting her back together or preventing this prob from happening again?

It's a wear item. It'll eventually happen again.

I check the boot on mine every time I change the oil so I'm aware of any cracking/failures... and can order parts accordingly.
