has any one thought about or designed subframe connectors on a KJ to make it a full frame ?
like a muscle car would have . just thinking out loud.

Not really needed KJs have about the strongest body / unibody/that there is, unlike say Mustangs, Camaros or even XJs

KJ unibodies are incredibly strong, much stronger than an XJ or an econobox.
IMHO the best muscle cars happened to be unibody, as well. All of the Road Runners, 'cuda's, Challengers, Chargers....Chrysler went all unibody in about 1959 and all of the 426 Hemi cars were unibody.

When I wash the underside of my KJ, I can blast water into the "frame rail" under the front doors. When I use enough pressure, the water comes out of the center of the rear bumpstop. Would seem to me that the KJ already has a frame. Albeit with the body securely mounted. Kudos to ChryCo, no body mounts to replace or rot out!!

X2! I've been a Mopar fan since 1963. Too bad the Slant 6 didn't meet emissions standards
for the current model years. They just couldn't keep up. Oh well . . .

Already standard on a KJ and KK,along with all other uniframe Jeeps.

The muscle cars that need subframe connectors usually have very litte visible frame structure under the passenger compartment, just stamped steel.
incommando is right, Mopars didn't need sub connectors, especially the hemi & 440 cars, key points were reinforced with a another layer of steel. Even they A bodies from 67 on were good. I read in Lee Iacocca's (sp) book that Chrysler's engineering was always envied by the other manufacturers.
I was into Neons for a while, they had very stiff unibodies as well. Probably the main reason why the SRT4 was so capable.

BTW I am a little older so when I was at the drag strip in the mid to late 70s I remember seeing 11 second 4 speed Novas and Camaros buckling their 1/4 panels at the launch and with every upshift. Subframe connectors and "back halfed" cars were just coming in to the scene back then.
