Ok! Back to the task at hand haha. I ordered a MBRP cat back stainless exhaust from 4wd. free shipping, 5% off, and 50$ rebate that I gotta fill out. I will keep everyone posted on it when it gets here.

Well, I got my magnaflow installed over the weekend. To put it frankly, I am very dissappointed. It drones terribly between 1700-2500 rpms in city driving. Enough to drown out any conversation to be had in the vehicle. When I took my wife for a drive she looked at me and said it sounded worse/louder than my explorer did with a flowmaster 40 series! It sounds ok enough at highway speeds so you can actually talk. I am currently trying to decide whether to get a flowmaster 70 series or just bite the bullet and get another stock exhaust system. I did not like my explorers exhaust and I don't think I can handle something slightly worse for the next couple years.... There might be a slightly used magnaflow for sale here shortly.....

Have never heard a Magnaflow drone at highway speeds before :shrug:
Mine with Magnaflow and Duratracs can still talk to my hard hearing Step Father in the back seat

No, like I said, highway speeds are ok. I actually like the sound of it on the highway. However, the most droning occurs when in the city accelerating or maintaining speed between 1700-2500 rpms. Which is where I do most of my driving during the week. It is also almost deafening when it is first started in the morning until it idles down.

Little bit of an update. I ripped the magnaflow off and replaced it with a flowmaster 70 series over the weekend. Much better! It has a deeper tone than stock but sounds almost as quiet as the factory muffler inside the vehicle. Absolutely no droning! It has a very good sound considering its still a V6. My brother laughed and commented how funny it will be explaining that a flowmaster quieted down a vehicle. I plan on writing a review here shortly on comparing both mufflers with some pictures also.

Interesting!

Update on my MBRP. I love the sound! There is a little droning at speeds you should not be going but if you don't have a lead foot it sounds nice. The hum just reminds you that it is there. When you really open up that "little" V6 sounds like a whole different vehicle! Definitely turns a few heads when I get on it at a light.

Are these systems bolt on or weld on, by the way? Since I don't have a welder...looking for a good bolt on option.

The MBRP is bolt on. Going to need some sort of cutoff saw to get the old one piece welded tailpipe off though.
