Yes, I did remove my grubby finger prints from it afterwards. It definately made a nice improvement from stock. I had an extra j-yard TB sitting around already because I broke the cruise control tab off of the stock throttle cable bracket, and plus, I've been wanting to do this.

I've also got this lying around waiting to go in.

So youre going to send the extra TB back as the core? Is it $180 with the core or without? So that makes it would be over $200 if you didnt send it back? I like keeping all my stock parts..

And you say you did notice an improvement? Please explain.

It's not a Fastman TB, I worked that one myself. Ported/polished, removing *most* of the bottle neck in the center portion before the blade. I left some of it further in so as to keep some low speed port velocity. I thinned the blade a few thousandths and removed half of the throttle arm.

The gains were noticed right off of idle, with a bit better throttle response from the bottom to the top. There's also a little more "seat of the pants" feel above 3500.

The TB with the TPS and the AIS was only 70 from a local junk yard. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do with my stock unit.

Wow great idea. So you hit up a junk yard and grabbed the TB along with the TPS and AIS for under $100. You say you notice gains right off idle...how about when it looks to shift at the 45mph mark and the RPMs drop low?

Sorry about the long delay. I was out of town for Memorial Day weekend.

To answer your questions: yes, I picked up the complete TB assembly from the salvage yard right by Selfridge AFB, for $70.

As far as it dropping out of the power band when shifting, it's a slight improvement through out most of the entire rpm range, and there was definately no loss. The nice pick-up you get right off of idle is most likely from the removal of half of the throttle arm.
