tips on removing sheared bolt ?

doing clevis lift, clevis bolt snapped and cant get the remaining part out. Suggestions are welcome, cant drive until its fixed thanks

Drill it and use an easy out tedious as can be but thats the ways to go.

it moves fine up until the sheared end hits the threads.... tried to file it down but no luck

yep tried that for the last 2 hours haha.... looks like drill out and retap it is..... might start a new thread called " how to do a clevis lift in 20 hours " :blah:

How about drilling the undamaged end of your broken bolt and the using an ez-out to screw the broken bolt piece all the way through the hole. Essentially tightening it out since there's no head to keep it in. Wire brush, penetrating oil, and heat as needed.

i got it out....half of the threads were just destroyed which was why it was stubborn. I plan to just retap to the next size up ..if i can find my Z drill bit ....what a day hah

dont worry, things only got worse..... good thing the jba's are sitting in my front seat waiting to be put on

At least you have the JBAs ready to go
They look better anyhow so I guess it isn't all bad!

Lol, as long as stuff gets returned. I loaned my engine stand to my neighbor for his cousin to use, that was over 10 years ago. At least I'm not tripping over it here. :happy175:
I've had deals like that. Every once in a while I would have to drop by my brother-in-laws house to see if I could borrow one of my tools... :emotions34:
