Yeah I've seen these floating around the 'net as well, but I'm not seriously concerned. Just because someone posts a picture of a bulged tire does not instantly mean the tire is defective since they can also be the result of hitting a curb, pothole or other obstacle.

And as far as the last picture of the wrecked KJ is concerned that had absolutely ZERO to do with a tire failure (yet this is the third time I have seen it directly linked to this type of post. Curious...).

Almost any tire will have the same effect if you hit something hard enough.I no fan of procrap tires either but that pic is driver error, not tire error.

Oh and most of those pice you posted in the first post are purely photoshop, only the second and 5th ones are real.

The silver KJ is the 2WD model that Autoweek rolled during testing. Slalom testing in a parking lot with oil patches. Duh!

That's called chunking there and was caused by a sharp rock or tree stump.Old age can cause this also, you should never run tires more then 6 years old. There is a DOT # and close to that DOT# is branded when your tires where made, something like 4600 which means the tire was made the 46th week of 2000.

Good day,
I agree with tjkj. Most of those pictures are photochop.
I've killed brand new Pirelli and Yokohama tires within 3-4 hour old!
Cornering too hard, pot holes, you name it.
And those were on my Green Mini on the road!
Totally fried a set of dedicated snow tires in 18 minits.
Blown side walls,etc.

So is this in fact a Pro-Comp tire or is it just a random shredded tire caused by the driver's own negligence? You can post all the info you want but unless you can directly state that this is a picture of one of the faulty tires it doesn't serve to advance your argument. You say in your initial post that you saw this on another forum but don't say that you were personally involved in a dispute with 4WP so I can only assume you merely wish to smear the name of an (as far as I can tell) reputable company. If that's the case then I see no need for you to continue on this forum. Buh bye

We're not here to facilitate gripes against companies, with supporting evidence largely photoshopped.
