Okay so if I were to toss a 2.5" lift on my 04 Renegade does anyone know if a set of 255/70/16s would be able to fit without tire rub? And also if anybody has done this I would love to see a pic or two, thank guys!

I had 255/70/16 Firestone Destinations, OME HD's and 2 ring clevis lift, with Soft 8's and had to trim the front bumper and pound the pinch weld.

I ran 255/70 Yokohama AT's on OE wheels
With nothing more than OME med duty coils
This had less rub than 245/75 MTR's

Note this was on an '03 LTD

Well I was looking at getting a 2.5" Daystar Kit and some Kumho Road Venture ATs (255/70/16), putting them on the stock rims for the Renegade edition

Depending on miles etc my best guess is you have lost 3/4 of an inch from stock height already so you're not going to get the full 2.5 inches
Hard to say for sure but I'd say you'll have a good bit of rub
measure from the middle of the front wheel on the drivers side to the bottom of the flare and report back

15.5" from the front of the flare, 17" to the back... And would 245/75/16s rub less than 255/70s? because i wouldnt mind getting some of those either... If not then I will probably just go to 245/70/16s

15.5 from middle of the wheel to bottom of the flare
maybe better measure again
that would mean you are 4 inches lower than stock almost
rear would be over 2 almost 3 inches lower

Well you have an inch or more of sag already, ( stock when new is about 19-19.5 on the average) your springs will be close to stacking and if you add a Daystar it will only make the problem worse. You'll get up to an inch to inch and a half of lift for a while, but it won't take it long to be back where you are now.
Your first order of business will be to get a good full spring lift kit with new shocks front and rear

I would love to do that but the budget isn't really there after buying the car itself (since those kits are up in the $600-700 range if I'm not mistaken)... It will need new tires before too long and I would really prefer to go ahead and get the kind I want to have on it for awhile, but I'll be a full time college student soon and wont have any larger a budget any time soon :( any suggestions?? headscratch.gif

really at this point a Daystar lift would be pretty much throwing money away. With the springs that weak and shocks needing replacement as well about the only choice is 245-70s
and even with them rubbing maybe a problem due to the sagging

Disregard the post about the Rough Country I was reading through some other posts and found that those sag rather quickly, though I did see the WesWay lift and was curious as to how well that would work for my Jeep with the amount of saggage it has already encountered?

The only fix for sagging springs is new springs
It is a common problem with KJ's
Remember that at some point you will be buying springs
be it now or later
and it will be cheeper now because any thing else will be wasted
money and time

X's 10

The wesay lift is OK if you have springs again that are not sagging, like above only way out of it is new springs and shocks

Okay so on JBAs website i can get the EMU front and rear springs for $160 total, and since they discontinued the struts everyone has been recommending i went out and found front and rear EMU ones for $490, totaling $650, $100 less than the entire kit from JBA... You guys think this is a good deal or no??
