I've been lurking on and off since I bought my 2005 liberty in June of 07.
First problem happened in August of that year. Driving at 55 vehicle goes into limp mode. Didn't know what was going on. Take it to the dealer and the code reads "massive fuel leak". No fuel leaking or mileage drop. The local dealer resets the check engine light and sends me on my way. I figure it's just a fluke. Month and a half later wife breaks down. Same symptom( limp mode) she pulls over and turns vehicle off and it won't restart. Same code.
Jump ahead three years. Vehicle has visited the shop 6 times. The latest from June of this year through August. Air keeps building up in the fuel filter head. So far they have replaced the lift pump in the tank twice, the number one injector, and two fuel filter heads(the first one i bought).
Can anyone help me figure out where the air leak is or how to diagnose?
I won't take it back to my local dealer again and would appreciate the help.
