Looking to replace my tools which were lost in my divorce. Thinking of going with the Craftsman mechanic set the 200 piece set I believe it is. Is this a good choice any other suggestions?:smiley_drive:

Yep lifetime warranty and the ratchet and sockets are fine. I used a friends kobalt tools this weekend, from lowes, they were fine. The old kobalt tools were made by snap on, not sure if they still are or not.

I have a complete compliment of Craftsman tools...You name it I got it! Can't beat the warranty OR THE PRICE! Plus Sear's are just about everywhere local. If you happen to break something you can have a new one in short order... That being said, I think that I have only replaced 3 3/8 ball end hex sockets and several ratchets...The ball ends because They would get hard use at work and the ratchets because over time they tend to slip...they have even replace my screwdrivers that I YES I broke tips on!

I have two sets of Carftsman one for work and a bigger better set for the home.

I strongly suggest looking at Craftsman tool cataloges vs going to a store.

I paid $500 when I bought my 300+ piece set from a Sears store. Then I found out that I could have gotten a much better set for the same price through their tool catalog.

I take it you've learned your lesson.

Never enter a contract where one person can break it at any time and you automatically lose half your stuff and take on 1/2 their debt.

That's what's bad, a woman has no use for the stuff, but takes them anyway... I m GLAD I got my stuff BEFORE marriage. PA only splits 50/50 on what is acquired AFTER the marriage, not before. That means my house is 100% safe!

Which is why I'm going hogwild BEFORE marriage! I'm buying my house (I've noticed a LOT of guys doing this these days), vehicle, everything BEFORE those papers are signed and trying to do as little as possible DURING the marriage.

... me and my sister already have a bank account for this purpose as well. ;)

But what does she need with a set of tools anyway?

What she "needs" and what she can take is two totally different things my friend.

Understandable. But most women I know of (and some guys!) are scared at the sight of a toolbox. You'd think they'd leave it for that reason alone. lol3.gif

Darn right I am scared of my toolbox. It is bigger than me and weighs 4x as much as me. If it decides to roll over me I am a gonner......:D

Someone said "what she needs and what she CAN take are two different thngs" If this is in the context of what a woman can take in a divorce, you are SADLY mistaken!

My EX took everything...YES I mean EVERYTHING..Right down to my socks and underwear!! When I got back to the apt. I had a broken TV, the clothes I wore to work, my Cherokee and my cobra...The Cobra was in my parents garage and the Cherokee was with me...

She took all my guns valued at over 10,000.00 as well..I didn't care about anything but the kids and the guns...When it came to court for property and I showed the judge my records concerning the guns, he asked her where are the guns. She told him she sold them in order to support the kids..He said well thats that!!!
I ended up contacting ATF and the local PD, turns out that I was able to list the weapons as stolen. So, to this day 10 yrs later the stolen guns are still out there..

If this was not in context with what a woman can take in a divorce then scratch my last!

That's what I meant, what a women needs isn't what she CAN take. A women can take everything you have and the courts usually just say " thats that".

It's a woman's world......never fool yourself into thinking any differently. :p

My Ex **** cleaned me out as well!
Not like she needed any tools other than a ***** for her now dead ******* friend.
Inconsiderate ***** sold 95% of my mountaineering equipment, $1900.00 canoe and countless other items including $5000.00 of Snap-on and Craftsman tools.

JKJCountry is really unique.

The OP (icefisher) starts a tool thread. So in the first page of posts he gets his answer and makes a decision.

So ok, all is good..........BUT

Then out of the clear blue the second page starts and goes way south OT and ends up on divorce, pre-nup's etc. This happens a lot.

I love it. You never know where a post is headed around here after the original question is answered.....haha......I love it....
