I need some help locating some quality parts to do my top end rebuild with, preferably in a kit and maybe some parts that aren't included in the kit that should be replaced on a motor that is 225k miles old. Luckily after scoping the pistons it appears the lower part of the engine won't need to be rebuilt unless we discover anything else, so just top end parts. I kinda know what I need to get, I just don't know where to buy it from.

I bought cheap parts off Amazon and rockauto.

Gasket set, head bolts, lifters, spark plugs, injectors. Got the timing chain stuff too, but didn't end up using it - managed to change the passenger side head swapped without taking off the timing cover.

ok, my timing cover gasket is leaking oil so I will end up having it off anyway I'll have to see if I end up needing to replace the gears/chain from the timing cover once I get it off

Mine dropped a valve seat at 125K but no piston damage, a common failure. I bought fully remanufactured heads from www.gearheadengines.com. $460 each with exchange, they pay return freight. Parts from Rock Auto. Replaced timing chains and tensioners, gears were fine, top end gaskets, head bolts, water pump, plugs. Spent about $1500 all in. Runs like a top. No special tools or talent just keep notes and take pics!
good luck!
