Hey everyone, hopefully someone can offer some insight into my problem. I've hurt my brain already with this issue.
I have a 2003 Liberty with a trailer and I can not get the driver's side turn signal to work on the trailer. The passenger side flasher works fine, and so do both side parking lights. I've ruled the trailer out of the equation by removing the lights (buying new ones also) and installing them straight to the wiring harness on my jeep. I've also ground them straight to the harness to ensure a solid ground. I know my ground is fine because it works perfectly as the ground for the passenger side flasher and both driving lights.
Using a multimeter and testing the harness end on the jeep Ive proven that Im getting 12V of power to the Yellow wire (responsible for the driver's side flasher) in my 4 prong harness. Im obviously also getting 12V to both the green (passenger flashers) and brown (shared parking lights) wires.
Even though I know Im getting power to the driver's side flasher, my light still wont light up. The light itself is not bad, because it works when I power it from the green wire( passenger flasher). Similarly the passenger side light does not work when hooked to the yellow, driver's side wire.
So my question is this, how can I be getting 12V power to the light, have a good ground, yet still not have the light working?
Any ideas would be very helpful.
Thanks all,
Dave
