Idk how long it's been flickering since I just bought it a month ago lol it's annoying so I'm awaiting a quote on how much the mechanics going to charge to replace it out .

I’d guess $150ish. The part was $45 and it took about an hour, if I’m remembering both of those correctly.

So my total will be about 311$ cause he's doing my muffler too ugh .

It’s not a hard job to do yourself. Pull the center console out, and it’s right there. I forget the size of the socket needed.

I guess I can give it a go I did the fog light a couple weeks ago and survived and it works lol

I did mine from below, when I was swapping cases. Dropped trans/transfer case low enough to get at it with a wrench. I would highly recommend doing it from above though.

Just replaced mine on my 06 CRD.You may find the problem is the actual nub that come in contact with trans case positioner wich is pushed down a little to much from use.
We put a little spot of weld on NEW Pos sw. nub for it to make the connection.
Your switch may not be bad,just not making contact even with the new one.
Spot of weld may fix it without a new one.

socket is 1 1/2.

Mine is a 06 CRD and they are not easy because the switch is not where you can get to it easily like gasser.
It is about 3 inched towards the rear and is a bear to do without the right tools.
Especially after you take it out and replace with new one twice before solving the switch nub issue.

I'm hoping that it has no issues and comes out seamless I'm going to give it a go myself I think to save $$ if it doesn't go right I don't think I'll have anyone to help fix it unless I get it towed lol really don't think that will save me much so I have to make it work .

It should go fine. I got some tips watching several videos.

Biggest thing is access to the tools.

Oh BTW - Please save yourself some aggravation and use the Mopar switch!

Don't forget to use the seal from the old one, or get a spare when you buy the switch.

I ran mine about 6 months with the light being wrong, but you can sure tell when it is in 4LO

Okay I'll make sure it's a mopar switch I will definitely grab a extra seal just in case the other is shot . Also I was going to ask my shifter is loose should I replace the cable too or is that a whole other headache?

Fyi I've never done anything other than plug's pulled some parts when I worked at a junkyard, a carb on a Honda lol and a dodge 225 slant 6 and full exhaust, break's, oil and radio stuff , a ignition switch in a Honda and tire changes , body work that's about it so I'm treading new territory

sorry - no experience with the shifter, but I can recommend a priest or 2 in your area if the sage you mentioned doesn’t work out!

To get shifter it comes all together, shifter and cable one unit
