I have a 2003 Liberty with a. 3.7 and about 150,000 miles.

Was out hunting the other day. Going about 50 MPH down a gravel road. Started to hear a clunk sound under car about every 25 seconds. Clunk sound got louder and more frequent. Slowed down. After about 20 miles I stopped to check out a deer. Put it in reverse. Wouldn't move. Just a whining sound when throttle was applied. Put it in drive and it limped along at about 10 MPH for a little ways and then it slowed and wouldn't move anymore. Put it in neutral and got out to push it. Jeep wouldn't move as if it was still in gear. I was in 2 wheel drive the whole time.

Any ideas as to what's going on here? Sound like the ****** or t-case? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
john

Brakes locked up or anything? Just thinking out loud here. If you jack up the rear end, can you spin the tires?
