There are 3 different onesIf it's the 45RFE-HD2 Transgo Kit it is recommended for the CRDs while you're in there for the torque converter. Improved pump recommended too.
I have no personal experience because I haven't had to go that deep into mine. It's on my parts wish-list right under the wish my transmission will last forever.
Yes, I installed one. The kit has 2 options - 1 for taking out torque converter, 1 for not taking it out - to take it out means you're removing trans. That second option also has a sub option for soldering in a resistor in the tb board, though you aren't supposed to do that if you have an engine power module (like a Jet chip). It was pretty straight forward, basically like a oil/filter change but there is a large cantilever-lever electrical connector for the TB (electronically controlled) that can be a pain to remove.Rock auto has this shift improvement kit for 45RFE transmission. Just wondering if anyone tried it and has some feedback.
That’s what I did. Single best performance upgrade I’ve made to my kjThanks for info. I checked out some YouTube videos of guys installing these things and it doesn’t seem to bad. Some of them just remove the valve body and leave the transmission in place. That seems easy enough to do, might go that route.

No. the instructions indicate that if you have an engine programming module (Jet module) that you shouldn't include the resistor. I think it's because the module also helps control the trans shift patterns. I have a Jet stage 1 module on my rig so I didn't include. They do work well together, as a side note.Did you solder in the resistor?
