Okay, now that I have a way to observe what’s going on, could someone please tell me what kind of temperatures I should be seeing?

I’m afeared it’s running hot. I might need a new radiator.

I have heard that when the temperature exceeds 110℃, the ATF life is halved for every 10℃ increase.
In other words, at 130℃, the lifespan will be reduced to 1/4 of the original lifespan.

110°C = 230°F
130°C=266°F

Replaced the cooler with a new one from Dorman. Finally seeing more appropriate operating temps. It took twice as long to pass 100F when I started driving, and I can now see it actually cool down when I stop somewhere for a bit.

Thats the bigger transmission cooler.

Did you have to remove the bumper to install the trans cooler?
No, just the grille. There was enough room to drop it out. The cooler looks to be the same size as the original. But it DID cost twice as much as any other option, lol. I guess I’ll have to get a tape measure and find out eventually.
